Dawcul Bulletin May 2024

Dawcul’s work is mainly based in Eastern Europe, however this month, we have had plenty of reasons to venture further afield to visit customers, partners, and an important trade event. The team has also been active, working alongside partners on projects, installations, and future prospects closer to home.

Texas Calling!

During an exciting week in Houston, Texas, Tomasz Milewski, our Sales Director for Poland, and Marius-Cristian Serban, Area Manager for Romania, embarked on a productive trip alongside our valued customer OMV Petrom. Their journey included insightful meetings with our esteemed partners CIRCOR International, Inc. (Tapco Enpro & Delta Valve) at their Head Office in Channelview, Texas, and a fascinating visit with OMV to Lyondale Refinery.

But the adventure didn’t stop there! Tom and Marius also had the pleasure of attending RefComm 2024 in Galveston, where they explored cutting-edge technologies and new innovations from some of our esteemed technology partners.

Centrax Gas Turbines hosts client visit

Working in partnership with Centrax Gas Turbines in Newton Abbot, Devon, we were pleased to host another visit from our good client in Croatia, INA, for the overhaul of their ASP 942 Gas Turbine engine which has completed an operational 42,000 hours of service since its last overhaul.

This engine has been stripped down and checked for repair requirements and will now be re-assembled, complete with new spare parts, ready for delivery in July 2024, returning to the Molve site in Croatia.

Autocontrol Technologies partner visit

Our new partnership with Autocontrol Technologies goes from strength to strength following a visit to their premises in Italy recently. Autocontrols is currently working on some very exciting potential project work with Dawcul for the Polish market and we look forward to collaborating closely with their talented team!

Site inspection for Johnson Screens

Olivier Bouilleauis, inspector from Dawcul’s partner Johnson Screens, visited the Litvinov refinery (Unipetrol) to inspect the internals (screens, scallops) in the CCR unit during a large turnaround.
Olivier also focused on supervising mounting internals back into vessels to oversee the successful installation.

Factory Acceptance Test, Houston

James Bovill and Tomasz Milewski have just completed their week in Houston, USA, together with our client, to attend an important Factory Acceptance Test of MOGAS Industries’ Ball Valves and Actuators for one of our European customers (a major refinery in central Europe).

We are grateful for Mogas’ hospitality and support during this important trip and successful FAT.

Extending partner territories with Sulzer Pumps

Thursday 23rd May saw an opportunity for our CEO James Bovill, and Sales Director Tomasz Milewski to visit Sulzer Headquarters in Winterthur, Switzerland. Dawcul was appointed exclusive representative for Sulzer Pumps (after market/service) for Bulgaria and Croatia in Feb 2024, and May’s meeting at the Sulzer Head Office opened the discussion to extend these markets to additional territories and additional Sulzer brands.

We look forward to meeting Sulzer once again at Achema 2024 in Frankfurt in June!
